Bangladesh PM lauds team after historic 2-0 Test series win over Pakistan
Bangladesh created history by defeating Pakistan 2-0 in a Test series at home, sealing a 78-run win in Sylhet to complete a historic whitewash.

Bangladesh’s dominant 2-0 Test series sweep over Pakistan in the ICC World Test Championship has resulted in significant gains for several players in the latest ICC Men’s Test rankings.
Veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim emerged as one of the biggest movers after finishing as the leading run-scorer of the series with 259 runs in four innings. The experienced Bangladesh batter climbed 10 places to joint 16th in the ICC Test batting rankings.

Litton Das also enjoyed a strong rise, moving up 14 spots to 24th after scoring 239 runs across the two-match series.

Bangladesh’s bowlers were equally rewarded following the historic away triumph. Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam climbed two places to 11th in the ICC Test bowling rankings while also reaching a new career-best rating. Off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz moved up to 25th, while pacer Nahid Rana made a jump of 10 spots to 54th.
Taijul additionally gained three places in the ICC Test all-rounder rankings to reach 29th.
Despite the disappointing series result, Pakistan had a positive takeaway with fast bowler Khurram Shahzad returning to the ICC Test bowling rankings in 49th place after making his comeback in the second Test in Sylhet.
Meanwhile, there were several notable movements in the ODI rankings following the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series involving Nepal, Scotland and the United States.
Nepal, who secured three wins during the tri-series, saw wicketkeeper-batter Aasif Sheikh climb five places to joint 81st in the ODI batting rankings, while all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee moved up eight spots to joint 91st.
Nepal bowlers Sandeep Lamichhane and Lalit Rajbanshi also made gains, rising to 32nd and joint 47th, respectively, in the ODI bowling rankings.
For Scotland, Brandon McMullen advanced four places to 49th in the ODI batting rankings after another impressive showing with the bat.
USA spinner Nosthush Kenjige climbed 10 spots to 49th in the ODI bowling rankings, while teammate Milind Kumar rose four places to joint 18th in the ODI all-rounder rankings.
